Three Things to Keep in Mind as You Begin With Myofascial Release

When people start to work with me, they want to know how long it's gonna take...for the pain to go away, to get back to doing what they love. It's a great question and tricky because it is different for everybody.
From what I hear most doctors out there are writing scripts for pain, anxiety, and sleep. They are referring patients to get cortisol injections and the like...but the long-term relief that you are looking for is not gonna be found in that pill. That injection might keep you moving on that European vacation but what about your everyday?
My myofascial release practice, both online and at the clinic is full of people like you that want more than a pill or another surgery. And if you need that type of intervention, myofascial release helps it to be that much more effective. As the saying goes...

"Healing is not an event but a journey"

Sometimes that journey is longer than we think and the wins can be overshadowed with doubts, self-sabotage, and all the things but know that you are on your way!

Healing can be so subtle as the aches and pains soften and that chatter in your head quiets, there is more space for dreaming and more heart in your everyday.

So ponder this...

Three Things to Keep in Mind As You Begin With Myofascial Release

  1. You don't have to do it alone - Join me for my weekly Zoom class or watch the Myofascial Stretch Method classes. Come see me and my myofascial team at my myofascial release clinic here in St Louis, and get some 1-1 somatic coaching with me online. Get an accountability buddy to check in with and get your high five for showing up and getting in your self-care.
  2. Healing is not linear and has a bit of a dance. One step forward and two steps back. It's all connected so for example, when you relieve tightness in your shoulder, your neck might need a little something to line up with your new shoulder. Your not fallin' apart because everything is connected. You are on your way to healing!
  3. Sometimes you don't get instant results. Cuz baby you are in for the long game! Long-term results with big-time healing. This might look like better sleep, space in your day where you don't even think about pain, or a window of wanting to reach out and connect with your partner, your bestie, or go for that hike with your beloved dog.

So get on your mat, take that walk, and do a little dance in the kitchen as you're making your favorite pancakes! Make room in your world to connect with those parts of you that are just asking for a little attention. The benefits ripple into your whole world!

Fascia is the Way,

Melissa
